 FAQs

  • The main difference between a Registered Dietitian and a nutritionist is our education and experience.

Registered Dietitians have education requirements and credentialing standards that must be met before we’re able to become a dietitian. Dietitians are also trained to address nutrition-related conditions and continuing education is required to maintain our credentialing and specialization.

On the other hand, the term “nutritionist” isn’t regulated; therefore, they are only able to address general health and do not have specialized training. In short, all dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are dietitians.

  • No, lab work is not required; however, it can be a great assessment tool. We offer a variety of functional tests to get insights into your overall health.

Some examples include a Gastrointestinal (GI) Map for gut microbiome testing and DUTCH comprehensive hormone test. Both tests are done in the comfort of your own home. The kit will be sent to you directly with instructions. When completed, you will send the sample back to the lab. Lab results will be delivered to us, and we’ll review the results with you.
